DENVER - The 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Aug. 10 affirmed a $15,275,000 award to the plaintiffs in a trucking accident action, finding no errors in several rulings by the trial court judge (Terry L. Frederick, et al. v. Swift Transportation Co. Inc., No. 09-3080, 10th Cir.).

BOSTON - A panel of Massachusetts Appeals Court justices on Aug. 12 reversed a judgment for the defendant in an auto accident case, concluding that it was an error for the trial court to allow a police officer to testify about the condition of the plaintiff's tires (Wyatt Peterson v. Catherine Foley, No. 09-P-990, Mass. App.; 2010 Mass. App. LEXIS 1066).
